چکیده

The sea ice cover is changing rapidly in polar regions, and products with high temporal spatial resolution are of great importance studying global climate change navigation. In this paper, an map generation model based on Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) reflectance bands constructed to obtain data a resolution. By constructing training sample library using multi-feature fusion machine learning algorithm for classification, the high-accuracy recognition cloud regions achieved. first product provided by near real-time single-scene presence map. Compared photo-interpreted ground truth, verification shows that can higher accuracy ice, clouds, water, exceeds 98%. second daily weekly clear sky map, which provides synthetic maps one day or seven consecutive days. A filtering method motion used make more accurate. third optical images. comparison Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer 2 (AMSR2) concentration performed August 2019 September 2020, these composite images showed consistency over time, suggesting they be many scientific practical applications future.

IceMap250 - Automatic 250 m Sea Ice Extent Mapping Using MODIS Data

The sea ice cover in the North evolves at a rapid rate. To adequately monitor this evolution, tools with high temporal and spatial resolution are needed. This paper presents IceMap250, an automatic sea ice extent mapping algorithm using MODIS reflective/emissive bands. Hybrid cloud-masking using both the MOD35 mask and a visibility mask, combined with downscaling of Bands 3–7 to 250 m, are util...

Polar Sea Ice Mapping Using SeaWinds Data

Microwave remote sensing provides an excellent means for mapping polar sea ice extent. In this study, a new algorithm for polar sea ice mapping is developed for use with the SeaWinds instrument. The approach utilizes a priori information within the framework of Bayes detection to produce sea ice extent maps. Statistical models for sea ice and ocean are represented in histograms which are filter...

On the accuracy of thin-ice thickness retrieval using MODIS thermal imagery over Arctic first-year ice

We have studied the accuracy of ice thickness (hi) retrieval based on night-time MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) ice surface temperature (Ts) images and HIRLAM (High Resolution Limited Area Model) weather forcing data from the Arctic. The study area is the Kara Sea and eastern part of the Barents Sea, and the study period spans November–April 2008–11 with 199 hi charts. Fo...

Loss of sea ice in the Arctic.

The Arctic sea ice cover is in decline. The areal extent of the ice cover has been decreasing for the past few decades at an accelerating rate. Evidence also points to a decrease in sea ice thickness and a reduction in the amount of thicker perennial sea ice. A general global warming trend has made the ice cover more vulnerable to natural fluctuations in atmospheric and oceanic forcing. The obs...
